Snow Plowing Info

As we get ready for winter in the City of Carey here are the things we ask of the citizens:
 

* Please move all personal belongings including cars, campers, garbage cans etc. out of the city street right of way. The City is not liable for damage to privately owned items that are left in the right of way.

*Please do not push your snow out of your driveway into city streets. We will do our best to push as little as possible in front of your driveways, but we cannot clear each driveway.

*It is your responsibility to keep the area around your mailbox clean to receive mail delivery.

* You can sign up for the city text notifications if there are emergencies or things, we need to notify everyone if we send them through our new text my gov system. You can sign up by texting CAREY to 91896

Other things to be aware of for our snow plowing policy:

*Snowplow operation will commence when the snow depth has reached three inches. Exceptions to the three-inch rule are weekends and when a three-inch depth is reached after 3:00 pm on weekdays then snowplow operations will begin at 3:00 am the following morning.

*On weekends snowplow operation will begin after storm ends, unless the storm ends between 5:00 pm and 3:00 am; in which case snowplow operations will begin at 3:00 am

*Our priorities are:

1. School bus routes within city

2. Mail routes within city

3. All other roads

*Roads will be closed for public travel when, in the judgement of the supervisor, it is unsafe for public to travel on the roads
