Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council

MYAC

About

The Mayor's Youth Advisory Council, also known as MYAC, is an official youth organization lead by the Mayor.

The MYAC was established in the spring of 2022 by Mayor Sara Mecham with the intent to provide the youth of Carey an opportunity to voice their opinions, participate in community service, and share a role in the decision making of our city issues.

Benefits

Being a part of the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council is a great way to get involved, make new friends and make a real difference in your community.  By being directly involved and having a voice throughout the process, this provides a front row seat to how local government works.  Each youth will have occasions to work closely with the mayor who will be able to provide insight and direction on administration, city and county legislative processes, and current and future intern opportunities.   A  letter of recommendation will be provided by Mayor Mecham for every member who fulfills their responsibilities as a MYAC member.  This is a tremendous asset for college and job applications.
