About Us
Little Wood Irrigation district manages and delivers the surface water from the Little Wood River dam, located approx. 8 miles north of Carey. This water comes down through the canal system and river channel. LWRID also owns and operates the hydro plant at the base of the dam.
Landowners can own storage rights within the dam, based on acre/feet.
New landowners should contact the district secretary to transfer any water rights that come with their new property. A title company does not have authority to do this.
The Water Master is responsible for supervising delivery and tracking water use appurtenant to each water right.
